Peace!
I’m Cinnamon, a proud Los Angeles native and a passionate advocate for transformative birth experiences. Growing up as the middle child between two brothers, my connection to the world of birth began unexpectedly at the age of 13, when I witnessed my younger brother’s home water birth. That moment ignited a lifelong fascination with the sacred, powerful process of bringing life into the world.
My journey was anything but linear—chasing dreams of travel and self-discovery before eventually realizing that my spirit was consistently guiding me back to birth work. At 18, I dove into doula work, offering support to families from all walks of life. Through my partnership with the "Joy in Birthing Foundation," I supported women in shelters and foster care, while uncovering a deeper connection to women’s health that went beyond passion. It became clear that this was a calling steeped in my ancestral lineage of womb healing, a gift that began with me and continues to unfold.
Driven by this mission, I sought to create spaces where families could find compassionate and informed birth support, prioritizing cultural competency, holistic perspectives, and a growing foundation of medical knowledge. Early on, I came to realize the urgency of addressing the inequities within the healthcare system, particularly for birthing people of color. This awareness fueled my vision for a future where birth is community-supported, consensual, trauma-free, and physiologically aligned.
After several years as a doula, I took the next step in my path and enrolled in the Nizhoni Institute of Midwifery in San Diego, California, where I was accepted in 2018. My apprenticeship with home birth midwives across LA County, coupled with my continued doula work, gave me invaluable hands-on experience with a wide variety of birth scenarios—home births, birth centers, hospital births, VBACs, breeches, shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, and more. Over the years, I attended more than 60 births during my training, refining my skills and deepening my knowledge of holistic, patient-centered care.
I trained in multiple modalities, including plant medicine, homeopathy, traditional Chinese medicine, and western medicine, which helped shape my comprehensive approach to birth. I also learned hands-on techniques such as spinning babies, breech delivery, CPR, NRP, belly and womb massage, herbal yoni steaming, childbirth education, and placenta encapsulation.
After earning my midwifery licensure in December 2021, I continued learning by assisting experienced midwives while also taking time to focus on my growing family. In the midst of this, I was blessed with the birth of my son, Zen. His home birth was a deeply transformative experience that reshaped my entire perspective on birth. It fueled my confidence and renewed my commitment to rewriting the fear-based narratives surrounding birth, emphasizing empowerment and trust in the process.
Now, as a mother and a birth practitioner, I’m filled with gratitude for every family that allows me to accompany them on their journey into parenthood. Each birth I witness is a reminder of the immense strength and power we carry as womb-bearers. My path has been one of evolution and learning, and I am honored to continue walking this sacred journey alongside you.

My birth philosophy is rooted in the belief that conception, pregnancy, and birth are inherently natural, physiological processes that the female body is deeply designed to navigate. These milestones are not medical events to be fixed or controlled, but rather, they are sacred transitions that can unfold best when allowed to follow their natural rhythms.
In today’s medicalized landscape of birth in modern America, we often see birth treated as a pathology, a clinical event rather than a powerful, transformative experience. Even for those with low risk, the medical model often views birth as something to be managed or intervened in. This approach has shaped and constrained midwifery, through licensing, regulations, and “standard care” practices, which in many cases limit women’s choices and autonomy. Despite this, I hold steadfast in my belief that every person has an inherent right to decide how and where they give birth, and that their choices should always be honored.
I honor the wisdom of the many generations of women, especially the ancestors, granny midwives, and parteras, who have passed down the knowledge and traditions that guide us through birth. These women help us re-imagine birth not as a medical procedure but as a rite of passage—a chance to reclaim our personal power and heal from past experiences, whether from previous births or the legacies of our ancestors. I am committed to creating safe, empowering, and supportive spaces for people from all backgrounds, especially those in marginalized communities such as people of color (POC), LGBTQ+ families, and those of all gender identities.
My heart and my practice are deeply committed to lowering the disparities in maternal and infant mortality, particularly within Black and Indigenous communities. Through raising awareness, building community support, and making birth accessible, I hope to challenge the systemic injustices that have disproportionately affected these communities. My work as a midwife is not simply to assist in birth but to empower the families I serve by offering education, guidance, and a listening ear, while also using my experience and clinical skills to support an optimal birth outcome.
I believe that birth is a partnership between the midwife and the birthing family. It is not just about the clinical management of a birth, but about collaboration, respect, and trust. I encourage the families I work with to actively educate themselves, ask questions, communicate openly, and take responsibility for their own health choices. Birth is a journey that requires full participation—not just from the midwife, but from the family as a whole. Together, we will make informed, conscious decisions that align with your desires, values, and needs, ultimately supporting a birth that is as peaceful, empowering, and transformative as possible.
In every birth I attend, my goal is to hold space for the family’s power and wisdom, while providing the care and knowledge needed to make that power flourish
